My love for DIY-ing has led me to a new project. Since my
boyfriend loves Tauhuey, I Google-d ‘How to make Tuahuey’. Found this guy that
posted th recipe on how to make LaoBan tauhuey. Heehee. Score! Didn’t know how
LaoBan tauhuey taste like, I pass two to my friends to let them try and they
said it’s not bad. And since I did this Guide myself, th pictures aren’t really
good(iPhone camera, go figure) And there aren’t any shots of me! Boo.
~Idiot-Proof guide to Awedreee Tauhuey~
(Why do I call it Awedree Tauhuey and not th guy that I took
th recipe from, it’s because I changed th recipe slightly, but I’ll still give
it credit at th end of this post.)
This are th ingredients that you will need.
1. 400ml of soya milk. I used Nutri-soy because my house area didnt sell fresh soya milk. 2. 40G of coffee creamer. Any brand will do I guess. I bought Nestle.
3. 60G of Fine Sugar.
4. 35G of Jelly Powder.
5. 800ml of Plain Water.
6. Cooking Pot, measuring cup, weighting machine, plastic cups(to store th tauhuey in later)
Step one: Pour th 800ml of water into th cooking pot and bring it to boil.
Step Two: measure out th correct weight of th Sugar, Creamer and Jelly Powder.
Step Three: When th water is boiling, add th sugar in. Stir well to make sure th sugar dissolves.
Step Four: Add in the creamer. Stir well.
Step Five: Add in Soya Milk. Stir Well.
Step Six: Add in Jelly powder and Stir Well. When it starts to bubble, turn off th fire.
Step Seven: Split tauhuey into plastic containers and let it cool for awhile. Why plastic containers? So it easy to keep and give it to others as gifts.
Step Eight: Refrigerate th cups for at least 3 hours and take it out for enjoyment. :D
Okay, disclaimers. Mine did not turn out that successful as i believe I did not add enought jelly powder. I used 25G of Jelly powder only. In this guide, I have already revised th amount but just to be sure, you guys can experiment with 40G of Jelly powder perhaps? Mine was slightly too watery and my friends ended up slurping th whole bowl down! AT LEAST THEY FINISHED TH BOWL! And, they have not complain of stomach aches or whatsoever to its safe to say that this recipe is edible! No victims of Awdreee's cooking yet! :D
Any more Guides or recipes that you need, you can leave me an email or drop me a tweet. Hope to do more soon!
